Wonderful Wednesday Número 11 of 2018
I hope you're having a lovely day, whether it's Wednesday for you or any other day of the week. Wednesdays are by far my favourite weekday, I adore having a little think about the tiny moments of fuzzy wonderfulness that the week has brought so far. It's a brilliant remedy for the winter blues, that horrible cold or when you're just feeling a little bit blah. I also find that reading the other Wonderful Wednesday posts written by the lovely ladies who get involved each week lifts my spirits ever so much. You can find their blogs here: Sally, Jo, Helen, Michelle, Sarah, Kate, Cat, Sam, El & Laura
I am writing this on Tuesday night, having decided that tomorrow I'm going to have a lovely morning full of little things that make me happy. Waking up, having breakfast slowly, a shower, meditation and yoga will be top of my list followed by a huge mug of tea and lots of wonderful Wednesday reading. I'm looking forward to it so much. I'll have to light a candle of course, to fill my flat with the delicate, comforting smell of vanilla, I may even light the fire too and grab a blanket. I'm making the most of the very last moments of Winter. Let's get on with the Wonderful of the week so far shall we?
Happy Life Hacks.
Life is blooming well tough at times, whilst we can't always control what life has in store for us... in fact we rarely can! We can make it a little easier. I'm somebody who likes the feeling of being organised. Today (Tuesday) I popped home on my lunch break to check on Albert and feed him. We're still in Cone Of Shame land and he can't eat with the cone on, so I've had to go in early to be able to take a longer lunch break and pop home on Tuesdays. The only day I work at work all day long. I had an hour so after feeding Alb, I cleaned the litter trays, swept the floors and mopped. Changed the water in their water bowls, cleaned the kitchen, washed up AND dried the dishes as well as built the fire to light for when I got home this evening. They're all jobs I'd have had to do once I arrived home - with Albert still recovering the floors and litter trays have to be disinfected every day. I even popped the right amount of water into the kettle with a mug next to it and a tea bag in the mug! It's such a lovely feeling to arrive home, flip the kettle on and light the fire within a matter of seconds.
Spring is well...Springing!
Spring has arrived here in Barcelona, I must admit I'm hanging onto winter a little too desperately, loving all the mugs of tea and blankets. Having said that, doing a spot of yoga in the sunshine on my patio on Saturday really did warm my body from the tips of my toes to the flyaway hairs on my head! Does anyone else suffer from baby hairs? Because oh my goodness mine are just out of control!! One of my students said I look like a crazy cat lady with my crazy hair. I was secretly very appreciative of this compliment...it was a compliment right?!
The Cat Tunnel.
I ordered the furbabies a cheap cat tunnel from ZooPlus, it was this one which is currently on sale for £4.99 (this link is an affiliate link to ZooPlus - find out more about affiliate links here) and they absolutely love it. They play BY THEMSELVES. Up until yesterday I was having to spend a good 30 minutes three or four times a day playing games with them to wear Albert out. The other's aren't so inclined to go out as much as all of the windows and doors are permanently closed. The tunnel has brought us allllll a whole lot of joy!!
Chocolate Popcorn Cakes.
I took a huge batch of these chocolate popcorn cakes into work on Monday, everyone is really feeling the end of term stress right now. I had quite a few teachers ask for the recipe, so here it is! I hope you enjoy it, they're so simple to make and perfect for Easter time. They're also Dairy Free, Refined Sugar Free & Gluten Free - so pretty friendly for all! YAY! I'm actually nibbling on one as I tip tap away on my keyboard.
The New Bath time.
I've always had a little ginger shadow in the form of Arthur Cat, I now have two! I had a bath on Sunday night and Arthur sat on the shelf watching me with Albert sitting on the bathmat. Albert popped his little front paws onto the side of the bath to check I was okay every couple of minutes. For a cat who has never had much contact with humans, he is really coming on leaps and bounds! He now follows me everywhere - apart from when it's cone time. He's learnt when cone time is and will hide in new hiding places in the hope I'll forget.
Sleep Sleep Sleep.
I've been topping up my sleep hours lately and it really does do the world of good, sleep comes first is my new mantra. It's a mantra I'm loving!
Yellow Tulip & Pretty Blue Flowers.
On Sunday I treated myself to a pretty potted yellow tulip for Mother's day because looking after four furbabies isn't easy!! A friend at work also gave me a really gorgeous potted blue plant as a gift. I'm not sure what it is, so if you know please tell me! I'd like to make sure I water it correctly and give it the appropriate amount of sunlight!
The New Cat Bed.
On Saturday I spotted the pet shop in town had a sale on pet beds. I had a little look and saw a lovely big bed perfect for Albert which was 60% off! Of course upon arriving home everyone but Albert wanted to have a go. It's taken until today for Albert to give it a go but he's been loving it ever so much. He's a proper "Stretch Out" sleeper, so I wanted something big enough that he felt all warm and supported.
Yesterday one of my lovely friends commented on how good my skin is looking and it was the best compliment ever! Since completely avoiding gluten my skin has calmed down an insane amount. I have no new outbreaks and the acne scarring is slowly but surely disappearing! YAY!!
That's all my wonderful for today my lovelies. I hope you're having a beautiful day.
