Baby Steps To Self Sufficiency
It's been a GO GO GO week, a non stop just keep swimming week. It's been great although very full on. The weather is really changing now, with temperatures soaring to 30 degrees and the days getting longer, Summer is well and truly on it's way. This weekend I have pottered around the house, washed the winter blankets and stored them in bags ready for colder days which won't return until October time. I re-potted plants and spent the day organising the vegetable patch which will be one of my biggest ones yet. There will be plenty of recipes on here using caugettes, tomatoes, green beans and peppers I'm sure.
I usually just have a small patch or even plant seedlings in flower beds but I'm really interested in self sufficient living and the more I read, the more I really want to live in this way. So I guess these are my first real steps towards living self sufficiently.
Let's have a little look at my week in photos shall we?
The streets in my town are so pretty <3
The town square on Friday evening snapped whilst enjoying after work drinks.
My kitkat sleeping in the sun..
St. Georges day is celebrated in a big way in Catalunya and I was very lucky to receive these beautiful roses from a friend.
Loquat fruit also known as japanese plums grow in my garden and they are one of my favourite fruits ever ever ever.
My neighbour brought around a few artichokes from his allotment, I'll be enjoying these this week with a spicy hummus.
The apple tree's blossom is so prettyful
The before picture...
A tea break on the thinking wall, many decisions have been made on this wall...
Half finished. I didn't get a photo of the final product, oops. We have popped black plastic over the earth to keep weeds at bay as it can become such a handful when the vegetables are big.
I hope you have had a lovely weekend and that the coming week is full of loveliness, yummy food and happy times.
