Orange Lentil Curry

This tangy, zesty curry bursts with flavour and is a delicious vegan dinner option. A great plant based meal for friends which meat, such as chicken, could be added to. I usually serve this vegan curry with brown rice and a drizzle of honey.


A simple, easy and healthy recipe


  • 2 red onions
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 oranges  (zest and juice)
  • 1 heaped tsp. of turmeric
  • 1 tsp. of cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 1 tin of lentils

In a large saucepan slowly fry the chopped red onions and crushed garlic on low in a spot of olive oil. After 15 minutes add the grated carrots, chopped red pepper, juice and zest of two oranges, juice of one lemon and the spices. Cook gently for 10 minutes. Rinse the lentils and add to the saucepan, turn up the heat to boil and then leave to simmer for 20 minutes.

Serve with rice or naan bread. (Or both!!)
