Wonderful Wednesday 1 of 2019
It is the 1st of January 2019 and I’m writing the first Wonderful Wednesday post for the year ready to publish tomorrow. Goodnes me, it’s satisfying. Happy New Year my loves, I hope 2019 is full to the brim with all you could ever wish for. If you’re new to these part, each Wednesday I join a lovely group of humans to look back on the previous week and share all the lovely little things I’m grateful for. If you’d like to check their posts out you can find them at the bottom of every Wonderful Wednesday post. Shall we crack on with the wonderful?!
Christmas You Wonderful Thing.
Unfortunately I was very poorly on Christmas day with a severe EDS flare up, I spent most of the day curled up in an armchair under blankets with a hot water bottle and running to be sick, whilst it was bloody awful, it was also the quietest, calmest Christmas I’ve ever experienced and it was really rather lovely. We watched Christmas TV and Films and I snoozed on and off. My family postponed Christmas Lunch for another day until I could hold down food once more and everyone was really chilled out and content. I managed to eat a little Christmas Lunch on Boxing Day and it was really lovely and oh so very delicious.
Oh my goodness did I get some lovely gifts this year, so very thoughtful and I’m full of all the fuzzy feels for each one. Beautiful candles, Peta Friendly Chocolates, Gift Cards, Socks (always a winner at Christmas!!) a cordless hoover (I’m obsessed with it and have named him Horace) AND this incrdible painting given to me from Cat Dad which is painted by my favourite artist Lucy (who also happens to be one of my very best friends) - you can see more of her work here.
A Coastal Walk.
On Sunday we woke up late, with no plan for the day at all. I cooked up a batch of pancakes which were devoured very quickly. Whilst cleaning the kitchen I mentioned I’d quite like a walk and we decidedthe coastal path to Sitges would be perfect. It took us around two hours to walk and it was such a beautiful day. We had a lovely time and treated ourselves to soothies in our favourite café when we got to Sitges. We took the train back home and commented on how lovely our unplanned Sunday had been. It’s taken a lot for me to get to a point where I’m happy to not plan weekends down to the very last detail, it’s made me realise that really delightful unexpected adventures come out of unplanned days.
Drinks With Alan.
We went for a few drinks and tapas with our friend Adam, who I call Alan (it’s a long story). It was so lovely to catch up as I haven’t seen him since I finished working with him In October! We have subsequently seen him every day since! It’s an all or nothing friendship ;).
Post Christmas Clean.
Oh loves, whilst I am an overexcited child in the run up to Christmas, I always always always take the decorations down by the 31st of December. Desperate to clean - decorations always seem to make it much trickier to dust!! I love sprucing up my home ready for the New Year which is exactly what I did yesterday!
Herb Patch Weeding.
I spent a few hours weeding the herb patch today which had gotten totally out of hand. It was lovely just listening to a podcast - The Fringe Of It and getting my hands dirty. I love days like these!
My appetite hasn’t been its usual self lately! I have a feeling it’s to do with Cat Dad moving in - yippee!! Christmas time and trying to get allllll of the things done, so we’ve been cooking up meals we wouldn’t usually have and it’s been bloody delightful. Maybe I just got sick of eating the same old same old?! I’m not sure. A few nights ago we had a really scrumptious salad followed by muscles in white wine and new potatoes. It wa so good! This evening we had Rosemary Roasted Potatoes with Veggie Stuffing and a Mushroom Gravy which was really warming and soothing but not too heavy at all. I do love those kind of meals!
Well, that’s my wonderful for this week my loves. I’m off to watch the last episode of the latest season of Dynasty with popcorn and a cup of tea. I hope you’re having an amazing start to 2019, sending lots of love and cat cuddles your way,
