Wonderful Wednesday 18 of 2019
Happy Wednesday friends, goodness me I’m rather excited about today as it’s labour day here which means a national holiday. Cat Dad has taken himself off to work as he gets double time if he works on a holiday and I’ve got the day to myself to catch up on home things, blog things and of course, all of the cat things. I hope you’re week is going SWIMMINGLY! Let’s get on with the wonderful, shall we?
On Saturday we took part in the Tapas Route in Vilanova, it wasn’t quite as good as the Sitges one but we still had lots of fun and tried out four different places. Our lovely friend Alan came along for a few too and it was so wonderful to catch up. I really enjoy trying the different tapas on offer, although I have to be super careful when it comes to allergies. We were lucky that they pop allergens on a big sign for each tapas they’re offering so I felt a little more confident I could try them.
Sunday found us pottering at home, I popped the succulents in their new home on the triangle table and Katie Cat decided they needed A LOT of love. I’m still unsure where they should stay there or not! Cat Dad trimmed the hedges so it’s all looking neat and tidy and I caught up with ironing and cooking. It sounds silly, but when the house is all clean and the jobs for the week ahead are done I feel so much more organised. I also photographed two recipes, a strawberry jam and a green curry dish which I am aiming to get on the blog today - come on Cat Mum you can do this!!
Last night we went out with some friends from work. It was the first time they had met Cat Dad which was nice. We went for tacos and nachos, the waiter was so helpful with my allergies which was brilliant. I showed everyone my new ballet moves - ballet was absolutely awesome and I can’t wait for next week where we learn to pirouette. Sadly, there’s no class today due to it being labour day and all…
After school yesterday we had a Staff Wellbeing Event. I’m on the Staff Wellbeing Team so I helped organise the event and, I’m very proud to say this one was my idea…nope it had nothing to do with cats, however Cat Therapy is a thing and I feel every one would benefit ;). We organised a bake off, putting staff into groups. We gave them ingredients, without a recipe and they had to make fairy cakes. It was so much fun and some incredibly creative displays were made! My favourite was a dinosaur display with dinosaurs face planting the fairy cakes. It was epic.
Yesterday I was also lucky enough to go to the Natural History Museum with Year 4. They had an incredible exhibition on the planet and the work Catalunya is doing in terms of sustainability, recycling and looking after the Earth, it was fascinating. Since 2017, Barcelona has been implementing a programme to increase green spaces in the city - a square metre per inhabitant by 2030. Some of these plans include parks and public gardens as well as green roofs and walls, green corridors, urban vegetable plots, ponds and flower meadows. The children learnt so much and they are so incredibly aware of the impact we have on our planet.
Well, my tea mug is empty and I think it needs a refill, so I shall leave you here thinking of the little wonderful things you have experienced this week.
Sending lots of love and cat cuddles your way,
Cat Mum x
