Hello and happy happy HAPPY Wonderful Wednesday! Gosh it’s been a busy old week and I’m very excited to have a chat about all of the lovely moments of the past 7 days. Tina Bear is snuggled on my lap with the laptop balancing on my knees, she seems to be spreading herself further and further across my legs though, soon the laptop will have nowhere to go! Let’s get on with the wonderful, shall we?
On Thursday night I went on a school trip to sleep with sharks, now I must admit there was very little sleeping that happened! we slept in the shark tunnel at Barcelona Aquarium and this was my view from my sleeping bag. I was just as excited as the children, if not more so!
On Friday we were taken behind the scenes and shown the hospital and nursery where a baby ray and a baby shark had been born that morning, queue 30 children quietly singing Baby Shark to the little fella! What an incredible trip I will remember forever, I’m sure.
On Friday I was totally exhausted and slept until 11am on Saturday, it was my mum’s birthday so the family came over for lunch which was lovely. I made a lemon cheesecake for pudding, sadly it wasn’t Peta Friendly so I couldn't try it but apparently it was scrumptious. On Saturday evening we headed into Vilanova for the wine festival Temps De Vi, you buy tokens which you exchange for wine in over 200 pop up wine tents stretching the length of the Rambla. 4 tokens was 6€ which isn’t bad at all. We had a lovely time with friends, there were plenty of giggles and maybe a ballet move or two!
On Sunday, waking up feeling just a tad hungover…just a tad! We decided to go clothes shopping. My birthday present from Cat Dad was a clothes shopping trip. We had a lot of fun as I was (unexpectedly) very excited to try things on. I loved so many things that H&M had to offer, I haven’t been in there for years, but after listening to a recent podcast episode of The Fringe Of It on sustainable fashion where they interview someone who works at H&M I was really impressed with the work they are doing to recycle and reuse clothing. As per usual, sizing was totally off, so if you’re headed into H&M take a few sizes into the changing room with you and pay no attention to the number on the tag. I was different sizes in very similar styles of trousers in there. Remember to close your eyes and notice if you feel comfortable in the clothing, is it too tight? Too loose? Are you pulling it down, shrugging it up?
On Sunday evening I made my first load of bread using my new bread machine and oh my goodness me I was absolutely thrilled! What excitement for a Sunday night!! There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread to make a home feel cosy.
Other little moments which have brought me joy: playing catch the tennis ball with the Ginger Ninjas, they are so funny and run as fast as they can to catch the ball and sit on it. Sofa cuddles with Tina Bear, she’s a very good cuddler. The little tap taps Katie Cat gives when she wants a stroke. Ginger and Lemon tea, does anything soothe the soul quite like it? That delightful smell after it’s rained and everything is fresh and full of life. The little yellow petals of the sunflowers slowly but surely opening. Good Girls season two on Netflix, oh my gooooooodnessss I can’t handle it!!!! One of the children at work showing me her gratitude journal where she had written “I’m grateful for having Miss.Coote at school, she is always very kind and caring and helps me a lot.” Oh my heart!!
That’s my wonderful for this week, I hope this has inspired you to think of the little moments of joy that have made you smile.
Sending lots of love your way,
Cat Mum x
