I'm heeeeeere, heeeeeeey loves! How we doing? It's Wednesday, It's Wonderful, oh yes Ladies and Gentlemen, it's only bloomin' Wonderful Wednesdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. I'm tip tapping away on Tuesday evening with a mosquito buzz buzz buzzing around me, quite frankly I don't know how because I have absoluetly doused myself in mosquito repellent. Buzz all you like Monty the Mosquito, you ain't sucking my blood.
Gosh I am so full of wonderful I can feel it bubbling up inside, let's get on with all of the lovely little moments that have brought me great joy so far this week.
I'm very lucky to live in a coastal town, the beach is about a 30 minute walk from my apartment however, dare I admit, I rarely go?! This week I've made it my priority to get up a little earlier and walk to the beach. Passing by my neighbour's lavender field on my way. Rewarding myself with a stroll in the refreshing waves, burying my little toes into golden sand and feeling all the gratitude for the cooler morning temperatures.
I've taken to working outside, under a tree, it's just far far far too hot inside at the moment. We've been experiencing temperatures of 45'c, it's testing I won't lie! However, working under the huge mulberry tree in my garden, tip tapping up proposals and the like has been every kind of wonderful.
Chocolate Beetroot Smoothies.
I've got a new morning favourite, chocolate beetroot smoothie. I know that it doesn't sound all too appetising but I'm a fan. Half a beetroot, 2 tbsp of pure cacao powder, 2 tbsp of chia seeds, some ice and a whole lot of rice milk. BLISSFUL I tell you, BLISSFUL.
On these morning beach walks that I've embarked upon, okay, so I've only done two, but you know, I'm determined to go every morning. Anyway, on the beach walks, the only ones up at that time are the older Spaniards, with their deck chairs, getting the perfect spot on the beach to watch the waves roll in. This morning a huge group of them were in the sea doing water aerobics and it just made my heart so happy!
I did a little experiment with potato and tuna yesterday and whaddya know?! My new obsession was born: Tuna Fishcakes. OoOoOoh I don't know whether I prefer them hot or cold, with salad or hastily grabbed straight from the fridge. They're just every kind of wonderful and you HAVE to try them if you like tuna. You can find the recipe in Monday's Life & Times Of A Cat Lady Vlog on IGTV.
This little love has spent all day long with me, she likes sitting next to me as I work on my laptop, in fact none of the gang are ever far away!
My other lastest obsession is watermelon, cucumber, celery, mint leaves and lemon juice. All chopped up and thrown into a bowl. Oh my goodness, please can I have this every day all day all the tiiiiiime?!
I updated my books books books page earlier today with new reads I've added to my wishlist. I love having one place full of the books I've really enjoyed reading and highly recommend and also the books that I want to read, I'm hoping Santa will be keeping a watchful eye on that particular part of my blog.
On Sunday evening Fraser arrives for two whole weeks and I can't wait. We can't really afford to go on holiday this Summer, hence keeping to a strict food budget - read more about that here, however we've decided to have two whole weeks together here in Barcelona. I'm looking forward to picics, BBQs, days on the beach, long lie ins in the morning and evening stroll with my very best friend in the whole wide world. YAY!
That's all for now my lovelies, I'm planning on a lovely catch up phone call with my friend Rosalyn just as this post goes live. On Thursday I'm going to have my first ever manicure, thank you to my gorgeous friend Maribel for the gift voucher! I can't wait to have pretty nails. I hope you're having a delightful day whenever you read this.
Sending lots of love and cat cuddles your way,
