Wonderful Wednesday #33 | 2017


Hello Wonderful Wednesday Friends. How are you doing? I hope you're well. It's a beautiful but chilly day here today. I have leggings, a hoodie and even socks on! Autumn arrived quite literally over night last Saturday here in Barcelona. On Friday it was humid, muggy and far far far too hot for this time of year. Sleeping without the fan on full and just a bed sheet was near on impossible. As you can imagine I was somewhat surprised to be digging my duvet out on Saturday, wrapped in a jumper and fluffy socks!

Sudden changes in seasons aren't unusual here, but they do throw most of us a little. Extra self care, love and sleep is always a good thing during seasonal changes, so if you're going through a tricky time right now - be it headaches, migraines, tummy problems, joint pain or flare ups from chronic illnesses, be extra extra extra kind to yourself.

Let's get on with the wonderful shall we? YAY!

.: Jess Lively. I have been a Lively podacast listener for ages, around a year ago I went off the show a little, none of it seemed to resonate with me but I've been listening again recently. I've found it hugely resonating with my thoughts and feelings at the moment. Her podcasts, which all centre around getting into alignment - good feelings, really inspire me and get me motivated for the day ahead.

In fact I've really been enjoying pocasts a lot more in general over the past week. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it just uses one of the senses - hearing. You don't have to watch or read anything. I tend to listen to podcasts when I wake up, pottering around the kitchen making my breakfast, as I feed the cats, do the washing up and hop in the shower. I'll listen along whilst I get ready, drive to work and walk the twenty minute walk in. I'll then listen on my way home and as I'm making dinner in the evening. It really stops my mind from doing overtime and gives me something to concentrate on whilst I do little bits and bobs here and there.

.: Writing to your intuition. Jess recommends something called writing to your intuition. Basically you grab a notebook and ask your intuition or gut feeling questions that you may feel you don't have the answer to. E.g why do I feel so worried today? You take some time to listen to what your answer would be. I've done this a few times this week, and it's helped me clarify some of my previously confused thoughts and feelings.

Albert Cat. He went missing for a whole week, and came strutting back in as if he'd been out for half an hour. I had almost given up on the little fella we call our half cat as he does this on a regular basis but only for a day or two. Fraser thinks he has another home somewhere else. I think he goes to a house where they put cat food out for strays as he really isn't keen on any humans apart from me. He doesn't enjoy being locked in the house if I'm not in the room with him, which leads me to believe he's never been inside before.

.: The Cat Man. My partner in crime lives in the UK as most of you know. He adores the furbabies almost as much as I do so he sent them a "little box of treats". That little box of treats weighed 19.5kg and was full of Lily's Kitchen Cat Food and Treats. He spoils them rotten, but it makes me so happy and grateful to have someone who cares so much.

My E-Book. Eeep! Over the past couple of weeks I've been in the process of writing a short e-book. There will be more information on this very soon. I had become very overwhelmed by social media, and felt like something needed to change. I devised a detox plan for myself which included ways in which I could enjoy places like Twitter and Instagram again. It has made me feel very much back in control of my life online. I want to share this with you in case you're in a similar position at the moment.

Pretty Little Liars. After spending nearly a year watching Pretty Little Liars on Netflix - there are seven series and we had to fit it around our busy lives! We finally finished it yesterday. I won't lie, I was no amused my the ending. I won't give anything away but I'd love recommendations on Netflix series to watch! Whilst we're doing the long distance thing we like to watch a series together even when we're in different countries. We've enjoyed Orange Is The New Black, Prison Break, How To Get Away With Murder and the like!

An Autumnal Carrot & Squash Stew. Now that the cooler weather has arrived, all I want to eat is winter foods. I created this delicious carrot and squash stew that I've been having for lunch and dinners teamed with a variety of sides. I never really get bored of eating the same meal over and over again!
