I understand your struggle.

You are trying your very best to juggle everything; work, family, friends, social events, hobbies, the washing, the ironing, the dishes and let’s not even think about the newest diet you’re trying and the body you’re quite literally fighting for. You have tried pretty much every diet going - paleo, keto, atkins, juicing, fasting. You’ve counted calories, sins and points. You’ve calculated how much exercise needs to be done to reach that elusive number on the back of those jeans. Taken before and after photos, stepped on the bathroom scales every morning and try to opt for the ‘healthy option’, even if it is the boring option. You’ve done the new year, new you, a pre-wedding diet and of course slimming for the Summer. You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve fallen off the bandwagon, started again on Monday, broken down and eaten the entire of the contents of the fridge, had more than one cheat day in the week and desperately wished you could just look like THEM, however they are. You've gotten your hopes up time and time again with a new diet suggestion only to feel deflated and at the end of your tether when it doesn't go to plan.

It worked for a while, you lost the weight but then you set another goal and reaching that second goal was much harder, the weight loss slowed down, and then it came to a stop, and then...well, then it started increasing again. Life took over, Christmas arrived, you felt under the weather or just lost that oomph that fueled your early morning gym visits. You’ve assured yourself that it’s okay, you just didn’t have the time, or the space, or the ability. You feel lost, hopeless and question how you can have a body you despise so much? How you can eat so much crap, when you know the all consuming guilt will kick in just as you finish the last mouth full? It’s a constant, uphill battle against your body, food and even, at times, your mind, which you feel you will never win. It’s all you can think about, it’s taken over your life and you have no fight left in you. 

There is another way.

You CAN find peace with your body, there IS a way to calm your mind and begin thinking about other things, more important things. In order to create a neutral relationship with food and accept your body, first we need to work on mindset. Dieting and exercising for weight loss teaches you how to restrict and punish your body. If you want to find long lasting peace within yourself, you will need to learn how to tune into what your body really needs, to eat intuitively and to move and stretch your body rather than chastise it. You have to uncover and untangle eating behaviours, food stories and thoughts which have had a lifetime to settle and grow roots. This requires so much more than a diet, designed for someone else’s body, with rules which don’t suit your everyday life.
